Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect in vitro of sodium ascorbate in different application times and concentrations on bond strength of a conventional adhesive system of the pulp chamber dentin of bovine teeth. Eighty-four healthy bovine incisors and newly extracted are cut so as to obtain as a sample the middle third buccal of the crown. The pulp tissue will be removed and the dentin surface intra-coronary remainder will be planned with paper silicon carbide (SiC) 180 and 600 sequentially. Subsequently, the samples are randomly divided into 14 experimental groups, according to the contact time and the concentration of the antioxidant agent (sodium ascorbate). G1: 0.9% NaCl; G2: 5.25% NaOCl; G3: l 5.25% NaOC followed by 10% sodium ascorbate; G4: 5.25% NaOCl followed by 20% sodium ascorbate; G5: 0,9% NaCl , followed by 17% EDTA ; G6: 0.9% NaCl followed by 17% EDTA and 10% sodium ascorbate; G7: 0.9% NaCl followed by 17% EDTA and 20% sodium ascorbate ; G8: 5.25% NaOCl followed by 17% EDTA and 5.25% NaOCl, G9, G10 and G11 similar to G8 followed by 10% sodium ascorbate with 1, 5 or 10 minutes, respectively, G12, G13 and G14 similar to G8 followed by 20% sodium ascorbate for 1, 5 or 10 minutes, respectively, prior to hybridization with Scotchbond Multi Purpose. This done, all groups will receive blocks of Filtek Z250 composite resin on the surface of the pulp chamber dentin in three increments of 1 mm. The samples are sliced in both the longitudinal and transversal cutter metallographic precision in order to obtain sticks with approximately 1.0 mm2 in area. These will be submitted to microtensile test in a universal testing machine EZ Test (Shimadzu Co.). Subsequently, the analysis will be performed fracture in the Microscopy Scanning Electron (SEM) and the values of bond strength will be analyzed statistically. (AU)
