Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate the efficiency of the use of sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O3), at different times and concentrations, such as antioxidant in the reestablishment of the bond strength of resin restorations made immediately after simulation of irrigation with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl ) performed in conventional endodontic treatment. For that will be used 40 bovine teeth. The coronal parts are sectioned to expose dentin intracoronary hybridization. The samples will be divided into 8 groups: Group 1 (negative control) sample immersed in a solution of sodium chloride 0.9%, for 30 minutes, Group 2 (positive control) sample immersed in a solution of sodium hypochlorite 5 25% for 30 minutes + 17% EDTA for 3 minutes + 5.25% NaOCl for 1 minute, Group 3: Immersion for 30 minutes in 5.25% NaOCl + 17% EDTA + NaOCl for 3 minutes to 5.25% for 1 minute and Na2S2O3 application of 0.5% for 1 min, Group 4: Immersion for 30 minutes in 5.25% NaOCl + 17% EDTA for 3 minutes + 5.25% NaOCl for 1 minute Na2S2O3 and application of 0.5% for 5 min, Group 5: Immersion for 30 minutes in 5.25% NaOCl + 17% EDTA for 3 minutes + 5.25% NaOCl for 1 minute and application of Na2S2O3 0.5% for 10 min; Groups 6, 7 and 8: 30 minutes in 5.25% NaOCl + 17% EDTA for 3 minutes + 5.25% NaOCl for 1 minute and application of the Na2S2O3 5 %, in times of Groups 3, 4 and 5, respectively. After that is accomplished, according to the manufacturer's protocol, application of Scotchbond Multi Purpose adhesive system followed by composite resin Filtek Z250. After 24 hours the samples must be sliced to obtain 25 specimens in the form of stick for each group. These specimens will be submitted to microtensile test in universal testing machine (EMIC DL 2000). Later there will be the analysis of fracture of the samples in a scanning electron microscope and the values of bond strength will be analyzed statistically.
