Abstract

This present research project aims to study palynomorphs (dinocysts, spores, pollen grains, palynoforaminiferous and copepods eggs as well ) and palynofacies (constituents of kerogen), from sixty-nine samples came from a testimony of 2 wells-RSS-1, obtained by Petrobras in the Pelotas basin, state of Rio Grande do Sul. The range to be studied is placed between 4487.20 and 1906.05 m depth and according the microfossil studies, corresponds to the Campanian interval to Upper Oligocene. The main objective is to confirm or not ages already obtained by other microfossils, reconstruct the witnessed interval of the paleoenvironmental history, establish the biostratigraphy based on in palynomorphs and analyze palynofacies to integrate all the components of organic particulate assembly. This research is also part of the CNPq Project No. 490829/2007-4 named "Paleobotanical studies between the Brazilian and Indian sedimentary basins with special reference to marine dinoflagellate cysts, the Gondwana Flora and their applications." The studies are developed in the Palaeobotany and Palynology Laboratory "Professor Dr. Murilo Rodolfo de Lima " from Guarulhos University - UnG. The author of this project is very well trained in the processing techniques and palynomorphs analysis already , as he was Scientific Initiation Scholar (PIBIC CNPq and Jung) with analysis of samples provided by the IO / USP, FAPESP projects 03/10740-0 and No. 07 / 54657-0 and also participated in scientific meetings where good results of those studies were presented.
