Abstract

In this research project, we propose to study people nicknames and people nicknaming in a semantic-enunciative perspective based on Guimarães (2002). Assuming the nickname as a proper name and the nicknaming as a manner of naming, we will try to comprehend the morfosyntax and the semantic-enunciative operation of the nicknames of the inhabitants of Cláudio (MG) city registered in an "apelista", a phone book organized with the nicknames of the inhabitants of the city, and we will try to comprehend the nicknaming semantic-enunciative operation, or ludic naming, how we will propose to call the nicknaming, in relation to the jucial naming, which assign names by the civil registration of a Estate. Besides this, it is also in our interest to comprehend the circulation of the nicknames in the city. With the results obtained with this study it will be possible to reflect about the enunciative practice of nicknaming in the enunciative space of the Portuguese language from Brazil, and inscribe the nicknaming in the proper names problematic, by the distinction of people judicial proper names and people ludic proper names.
