Abstract

The dissertation versa regarding a modern issue from the perspective of the Ancients. We believe that Thucydides, author of the study object chosen for this research, drafted its response regarding human problem that causes the ruin of a city and demonstrated throughout his work making use of the concept of physis anthropon. The debate between Alcibiades and Nicias, on the expedition to Sicily (VI.9-23), the work "History of the Peloponnesian War", is the source of studies to analyze the figure of Alcibiades - chosen because the Athenian young to be considered a educational counterexample, or even the type of brilliant disciple who loses under the master of his own nature. As a last advance research, we will seek to prove that the discussion fostered by the study of tucidideana work suggests a type of citizen formation, and that this is related to the Socratic government proposal to himself.
