Abstract

Is common the association between social skills deficits and maladaptive behaviors, indicating that this is a factor that increases the vulnerability of young people to commit irregularities. From literature review it was noted a inexistency of national studies that relate directly to adolescents criminal behavior and social skills. Furthermore, research’s with young offenders, usually, dont make distinctions within the group of offenders. That said, this study aims to characterize a general sample of adolescent offenders in terms of social skills and specific objectives are to identify the existence and nature of social skills deficits and social skills differences in subgroups of the sample. Once identified subgroups in the sample, in terms of social skills, we intend to investigate the correlations between these variables and characteristics such as age and education, number of offenses, and lawsuits and BOs previous passages by social and educational measures. Participate in this study 60 adolescent males, aged between 12 and 17 years, subject to socio-educational probation. The project will be submitted to the Ethics in Psychology (CEP) and if approved will be prompted for the responsible participation of adolescents through the Term of Consent. Data collection will be applied Adolescents’ Social Skills Inventory (Brazilian adaptation) and the characterization data will consult the technical charts and folders. The scores obtained and the characterization data (categorized) will be entered in the spreadsheet for descriptive analysis and application of statistical tests, if possible.(AU)
