Abstract

Nowadays the agriculture has sought the increase on the production of food to attend the global requirement. This practice has intensified the dependence of fertilizers and an excessive consumption of water, increasing the contamination of water resources and the costs of production. To minimize this problems, the utilization of biodegradable polymeric hidrogels that contains fertilizers that when applied on the soil has shown advantages both point of view economic and environment, because of water and nutrient release gradually with no waste. The objective of this study is follow the behavior of hybrid hidrogel of chitosan/clay, utilized as a liberator fertilizer of nutrients on the soil, to evaluate the electric conductivity and the moisture generated by both with a form of evaluation the controlled released of nutrients on the soil. Will be conducted five testing in bucket contained soil with different dosage of hidrogel, this buckets will be monitored by TDR probe. Whit this study is expected to evaluate the gradual release or not of fertilizers and your kinetics on the soil, it contribute to decrease the loss of fertilizer, enabling favorable conditions to both points of view economic and environment, as well as obtain increased data of electric conductivity and moisture on the soil caused by the product. The results of TDR probe will be treated using linear regression, and will be compared with different concentrations of the product to discuss the advantages and disadvantages when applied on the soil.
