Abstract

The aims of this study are: (i) to verify the auditory perceptual performance ofchildren in identification task of the vowel contrasts in Brazilian Portugueselanguage; and (ii) identify which vowels and vowel contrasts provide a major orminor degree of perceptual difficulty. The experiment of perception will consistof an identification task. This experiment of perception, proposed by Berti(2011), will be conducted with 60 children using PERCEVAL software. Thecriteria of the analysis will be: (a) perceptual accuracy; (b) reaction time; and (c)identification of the error pattern by confusion matrix.
