Abstract The focus of this project will be on studying the various ways in which Hopf algebrasoccur in noncommutative field theory, fuzzy physics and lattice spin-gauge theory. We will study quantum eld theories(qft's) on the Groenewold-Moyal(GM) plane formulatedusing the notion of twisted statistics. In particular we will emphasize the roleof quasi-Hopf algebras in the formulation of the noncommutative gauge theories and howthey lead to nonassociative noncommutative spacetimes. We propose to study the phenomenologicalconsequences of these novel spacetimes such as non-Pauli transitions. Wewill also look at the problem of renormalizing these theories and how the noncommutativeparameter changes the running of the coupling constants and other parameters of thetheory. (AU) | |
