Abstract

This project, which should be completed in approximately two years, includes the study of the following topics in Optimization area: Nonlinear Programming, Calculus of Variations and Optimal Control. It will be addressed the theoretical base of each of the topics mentioned, along with some applications of Calculus of Variations and Optimal Control. The project also includes the study of generalized convexity and an introduction to non-smooth analysis.
