Abstract

Purpose: to characterize the risk factors for persistent stuttering in schoolchildren who stutter (CWS) and who do no stutter (CWNS), males, such as age, typology of the disfluencies, communicative and qualitative factors associated, familial history, physical and emotional stresses, family attitude and personal reaction. Method: 40 children with ages between 6.0 and 11.11 years, male, divided into two groups: the experimental group (EG) will be composed of 20 children who stutter, and the control group (CG) will be composed of 20 children who no stutter. The Speech Fluency Assessment Protocol will be used with the spontaneous speech to separate the children into the two groups (CWS and CWNS), and after the data were gathered through the Protocol of Risk for the Developmental Stuttering - PRGD. The data in this study will be analyzed by statistical method.(AU)
