Abstract

The goal of this postdoc application is the participation of Dr. Edgar Ramírez in the Polarimetry Group at IAG-USP and its activities. These will include data reduction, analysis and publication of the data obtained for the Survey of Interstellar Polarization at the LNA observatory. These data and their analysis will provide fundamental information on the Galactic interstellar magnetic field on several scales.Among the activities we highlight the implementation of an improved data reduction pipeline, building upon the existing software. This will also lead to the pipeline that will cope with the forthcoming imaging data of SOUTH POL, the first survey of the Southern polarized sky in the optical.
