Abstract

The 1968 period, known as "the year that never ended", carries this stigma because of its revolutionary character, that operate not only in the political scope, but, and mainly, in the behavioral sphere. This was a historical period essentially of the youth, that tried - and somehow managed to - to break down the barriers that separates politics from real life. These factors have made that 1968 was a period of intense artistic production being constantly revisited, as is the case of the movie The Dreamers of Bernardo Bertolucci, released in 2003 and the book Pedro e Paula of Helder Macedo, released in 1998. The goals of this project is to understand the fictional composition and narrational mechanisms of two records so different as the literature and the cinema, which allow the reconstruction of the historical period in focus. Besides that, it's needed to understand the different effects and meanings that such works seek when talk about the period without representing in fact the streets. (AU)
