Abstract

Aim To evaluate the inhibitory effect of the efferent pathway on otoacoustic emissions responses in children with a diagnosis of reading and writing disorder. Method Will be evaluated 20 children between 7 and 12 years with a diagnosis of reading and writing disorder and, 15 children with reading and writing alterations from the Phonoaudiology Laboratory (PIL) in Reading and Writing of FMUSP. The specific procedures to be performed are audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions with contralateral noise stimulation. The White Noise will be sent by an insert phone for activating the inhibitory effect of the auditory efferent pathway. The hypothesis to be tested is a lower inhibitory effect on children with reading and writing disorders, compared to the control group with reading and writing alterations.(AU)
