Abstract

This project deals with the solution of distribution system expansion planning in which the original mixed integer nonlinear programming model is transformed into a mixed integer linear programming model, so that, it can be solved using integer linear programming techniques. The mathematical model considers the alternatives of building new substations and reinforcement of existing substations, construction of new circuits or reconductoring of existing circuits, allocation of capacitors, allocation of voltage regulators, allocation of switches and allocation of distributed generators. Models will be developed for the optimal expansion of substations, static planning, planning and multi-stage planning considering the reliability of the system. Moreover, the aforementioned models will consider the stochastic behavior of the demands. The development of that models allows the solution of planning problems using commercial solvers for mixed integer linear programming.
