Abstract

Canine distemper is a disease caused by the Canine distemper virus (CDV), which is a morbillivirus of the Paramyxoviridae family. It is a highly contagious and serious disease, whose main infection source is the dog. The objective of this work is to study its seropositivity in vaccinated and unvaccinated dogs attended in the Infectious Diseases Department of the Veterinary School in UNESP, Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil. As well as the association with clinical signs and epidemiological data, aiming to measure the percentage of naturally acquired infection, vaccinal protection, and possible vaccine failures.(AU)
