Abstract

The Rorschach Method is a projective technique of personality assessment acknowledged worldwide and used in psychological evaluation process. To support the appropriate use in the context of Brazil studies are necessary about psychometric evidences, specially it requires indicators of reliability, validity and adequate normative references. In this direction, the present work aimed a) check indicators of validity from Rorschach Method (French Approach) through the revaluation of non-patient adults of normative study of Pasian (1998), to check the temporal stability (structural and functional) of the personality characteristics examined by the method (STUDY 01); b) review and update normative standards of the Rorschach (French Approach) in adults, assessment eventual specificities on the production regarding gender, age and education (STUDY 02). For the first study is to expect the revaluation of 100 adults from Pasian's study (1998), aged between 30 to 60 years old, trying to compose equitable subgroups based on gender and education level (low, medium and high). Participate in the second study 80 to 100 adults, from 20 to 59 years old, show indicators of a typical development, equitably distributed in terms of gender, age and education level (low, medium and high). All participants live in a city in the country region of the state of São Paulo (Brazil) and are volunteers to the project. They will be assessed individually by an instrument of self-report (for selection of volunteers, leaving in the sample only individuals without indicators of impairment of mental and physical health) and the Rorschach Method (French Approach). In the second study will also be used an instrument of intelligence evaluation (Test Non-Verbal of Intelligence - Form C) for cognitive control of sample (which has already been done in the case of participants from Study 01). Each instrument of psychological evaluation will be applied, codified and systematized according to their respective technical orientations. Specifically the Rorschach Method will be evaluated by guidelines of the French Approach, and each case (from the two studies) performed by three independent judges, getting, latter on, a final classification of the answers. Then will be calculated the agreeing indexes among the judges for the four categories of final classification answers (location, determining/formal quality, content and banalities) to evidence a sufficient reliability level of the Rorschach (French Approach). The results of this projective method, in both studies, first will analyzed in descriptive terms (mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum values) for the whole sample of subjects evaluated. After, the Rorschach data will analyzed in inferential terms, specifically to each one of the studies, according of their goals. It is intended to provide significant contribution to the field of psychological assessment in Brazil, it means to show empirical actually evidences about Rorschach Method (French Approach), aiming to further a new atlas of reference in Brazilian context, following technical-scientific guidelines from national and international field.
