Abstract

Requirement Engineering (ER) represents a crucial part of Software Engineering and, because of its importance, there are many computational tools that seek to support the realization of the activities foreseen in ER. Nevertheless, many of the tools now used in the market do not effectively cover the elicitation of requirements. Due to this scenario, in 2008 a Requirements Elicitation Support Tool (REST) was created to supply a computational tool that would cover the different techniques for the elicitation of requirements, thus helping Software Engineers to guarantee the quality of developed software systems. Later, the REST was modified and expanded so as to include new functions such as the validation of requirements and the support to required documentation. In continuity, to forward REST expansion, this project proposes a detailed study of the traceability process of requirement by means of defining and detailing the necessary software architecture to, in the future, direct the implementation of a requirement managing component, made up of modules to trace requirements. With this, it is hoped to contribute to the making of an even more complete REST for the process of Requirement Engineering, guaranteeing the quality of projects that will use this tool.(AU)
