Abstract

From reading the documents of Movement of the Landless Rural Workers(MST - Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem-Terra), this research investigates if the struggle of this social movement for land reform in Brazil can be understood as a struggle for recognition, according to the definition given to it by Axel Honneth, in his book "Struggle for Recognition". Our investigation will look at the light, which the author throws on the problems of utilitarianism and morality, to the extent that he conceives a tripartite moral grammar of the social conflicts, the theoretical gaze through which we will be able to investigate the discourse of MST.(AU)
