The present work has as its main scope the study of the lexis used in drug labels in Portuguese and in Italian languages. A research will be done in order to select specialized lexical units and phraseologisms commons in Portuguese and Italian drug labels; with this aim a comparable corpus comprising drug labels in Italian and Portuguese will be used. The more frequent specialized lexical units will make part of the macrostructure of a dictionary of specialized lexical units of this area. This will be done using the tools for the analyses of corpus WordSmith Tools e Unitex. The dictionary will have headwords with the specialized lexical units in Portuguese, a definition and a suggestion of an equivalent in Italian, besides a list of phraseologisms in Portuguese followed by their equivalent phraseologisms in Italian, when it is possible.Besides that, as we will analyze the corpus separately in the WordSmith Tools and in the Unitex, we will make a comparison between the results showed by these two softwares. The present work could be also extended by other researchers, with the study of this kind of lexis in other idioms, providing equivalents in other languages to the specialized lexical units found in Portuguese.
