Abstract The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is an economically important crop in terms of national consumption as well as for exportation. Molecular markers have been used in many cultures. The advance of the genetic improvement is assisted by the development of new markers that constitute tools for the execution of programs of marker assisted selection (MAS). The molecular analysis platform, DArT ("Diversity Arrays Technology"), based in genomic hybridization with micro array analysis, holds many advantages in relation to other existing molecular markers and it is now available for common beas. The present proposal has as a main goal the construction of a new genetic map with markers SSRs and DArTs in a segregant population AND x SEA 5 (FAPESP 2010/51186-9) and the genetic mapping of the loci associated with drought tolerance. We expect to locate and identify the magnitude of the larger effect QTLs that can be used for drought tolerance genetic improvement and for MAS. (AU) | |
