The purpose of this study is to evaluate, in vitro, the efficacy of Mtwo and ProTaper Universal Retreatment Systems for different materials removal from root canals. Forty single-rooted human teeth Will be prepared by using nickel-titanium Rotary files and allocated in 4 groups (n=10). The root canals will be filled with gutta-percha and AHPlus Jet® e MTA Fillapex®. After 30-day storage at 37oC and 100% humidy, the root canal filling will be removed by using Mtwo Retreatment or ProTaper Universal Retreatment files. The specimens will be analyzed through radiographs after root canal filling and after retreatment. Radiographs will be digitalized and analyzed by software Image Tool for Windows (version 1.28) for avaluation of remaining filling material. During the retreatment, heat release on the root surface and time required for endodontic filling removal will be analyzed. Data will be submitted to statistical analysis by ANOVA and Tukey tests at the significance of 5%.
