Abstract

In my masters' research, the subject is the connexions between family organization - locally named lakou -, its territorial representation, and the productive organization in the north of Haiti. The main purpose is to relate these linkages with socioeconomic dynamics of the region, by a historical approach. The methods I have been using are the bibliographical research and the analysis of the material I have brought from my fieldwork research between January and April 2012. The application for the research stage in a foreign university intents to carry on my work, through the dialogue with Prof. Lauren Dubois and his research team. Besides, I also aim the engagement in discussion groups in Franklin Humanities Institute at Duke University, the center that will receive me as a research affiliate. (AU)
