Abstract

The Mental Health Policy in Brazil that used to be focused on psychiatric hospitals has been going for major changes. Thus, mental health care began to be understood as multifactorial, resulting from a complex social process, and care, in consequence, is composed of actions that seek to promote quality of life, prevent injuries, and psychosocially recover and rehabilitate people with severe disorders. In other words, thinking about the crisis is not only prescribing medicines and activities but is thinking about the changes in the life of the subject. CAPS is a place of reference and treatment for people, whose severity or persistence of their psychological distress justify their residence in a communitarian, customized, and promoter of life device of intensive care, where the "therapeutic workshops" are one of the main forms of treatment. Among the workshops, we highlight those that use music as an important device, because the music provides a form of expression that may have the effect of (re) signification of aspects of life offering a (re) construction of the subjectivity of the subject. Due to its proportion and its certified importance in the care of people with mental disorders, this project aims to map and characterize the music workshops of CAPS from the state of Sao Paulo, identifying your goals, the methodologies used and the instruments/equipment more used, in order to generate data for future researches.(AU)
