Abstract

The present research project aims to identify or examine Freud's comprehension of the management of the transference in the period between 1901 and 1918. In a more specific way, the aim is to elucidate how the management of transference prevented the psychoanalytic analysis from being reduced to suggestion. Therefore, the purpose is to understand the relationship between transference and suggestion in Freudian text. Such investigation or research is justified due to criticism from other areas of knowledge, which claim that psychoanalysis is a method tainted by suggestion, and, also, due to the great variety of psychoanalytic community interpretations regarding the logic involved in the management of transference. By unveiling the conception of management of transference in Freud, you have in hands, an important historical and epistemological resource in order to understand a contemporary psychoanalytical method. Besides being a small contribution to psychoanalytical epistemology, this research is an opportunity to better understand the specificity of the psychoanalytical method. As far as the methodology is concerned, the article is divided into two stages, in the first stage, the objective is to comprehend in the structural form the evolution of the object of this research - transference, and suggestion - and to this intent, this study will use Thematic Context Analysis, through which thematic frames will be built, and a second stage, with a more reflexive, through which the epistemological analysis will be carried on, having as a reference the thematic frames.(AU)
