Abstract

Postmenopausal women may present symptoms due to the lack of hormones, mainly estrogen. Such a decrease in the levels of estrogen leads to physiological changes that may affect the other organs and systems. Unlike hot flushes and night, sweats which resolve upon spontaneously in time, atrophic symptoms affecting the vaginal and lower urinary treat are often progressive and frequently require treatment. The use of phytoestrogens, such as isoflavones derived from Glycine max, administered topical vaginal, has been shown to be an interesting therapeutic, mainly to those women who do not accept well the hormonal therapy.
