Abstract

This journalistic research project proposes the divulging of journalistic texts related to scientific researches being carried out at Inter-Unities Post-Graduation Program in Applied Ecology (PPGI-EA) at University of São Paulo (USP). For this, the publication of news, interviews, and special features will occur through Com Ciência electronic magazine of scientific divulgation and eventually through other media. The journalistic material will be elaborated from interviews with specialists, professors, and post-graduation students; through following up of dissertations and thesis defenses and; also through scientific events performed by PPGI-EA. It is aimed to publicize the results and implications of scientific activities specially performed by one of research lines which compose the program: Environment and Society. During the elaboration of the journalistic material, the interest of non-specialized public will be highlighted through the use of a clear and simple language and through the development of concise and didactic texts. The content of texts will approach social environmental events focused by scientific researches being performed through PPGI-EA. The objective is to contextualize and inform the reader about the extent, the potential and the limitations of research activities. As a result, it is expected to contribute to the increase the social environmental information diffusion that can support conscious decision-taking processes and behavior changes toward the full citizenship practice through better socialization of science. Keywords: scientific journalism, applied ecology, social environmental research (AU)
