Abstract

Humans as historical and social, develop from the interaction with others, and therefore the participation in the social context will determine on large scale his development. According to their needs and through work that human has developed their culture. However, not everyone can establish various interactional patterns; this is the case for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. Therefore it is important that accessibility be promoted so as not to stickle the appropriation of cultural elements. Thus, the present study intends to investigate the conceptions of the academic community of accessibility at UNESP, outlining their expectations about the applicability of the laws that govern this subject at the University. Based on the qualitative research method, constituted as a sample in this study 641 participants, involving all three segments of the community of UNESP, namely: teachers, technical and administrative staff, and students (graduate and undergraduate) mentioned in the campus, covering seven units. The data correspond to tabulation and analysis of 4000 statements of participants' responses collected in the application of an Electronic Form of the identification the conditions for social inclusion and accessibility in the University, applied to the campus of UNESP in Araraquara, Bauru, and Marilia. These responses will be analyzed based on the method of content analysis with the aid of Atlas TI software. It is hoped that this study can contribute to the elimination of hurdling to accessibility and consequently for the development of actions that favor the inclusion of people with disabilities and/or reduced mobility at the University.(AU)
