Abstract

Ultra-peripheral colisions are appropriate to the study of the interaction of the atomic nucleus with an intense electromagnetic field. The presence of virtual photons in high energy collisions as those at the LHC allows the study of the production of vector mesons. For this work the Monte Carlo code CRISP will be used, which shall receive the inclusion of production and interaction of virtual photons and vector mesons. This project includes the participation in data acquisition and analysis for the ALICE experiment, in particular as regards the ultra-peripheral collisions. (AU)
