Abstract

The goals of this work is the synthesis and the magnetic, magnetostrictive and magnetoelectric characterization of the fibrous compósite 1-3 (1-x)(Pb(Mn1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3/CoFe2O4 (PMN-PT/CFO), x=0.2 (the composition can be changed) and compare with our results for the 0-3 composite with same composition. The fibrous will be synthesis using the "Laser Heated Pedestal Growth" or LHPG.The magnetoelectric characterization will be perform using dielectric coefficient measurements as a function of magnetic field, temperature and the angle between electric polarization and applied magnetic field. This measures will be perform in the USA.The magnetic characterization are: magnetization, AC susceptibility and magnetostriction measures and they will be perform in Brazil. This is a one year project to be execute in the University of Texas at San Antonio - USA. The supervisor will be the researcher and professor Amar Bhalla. (AU)
