Abstract

This study aims to identify and characterize the profiles and trajectories of alternative experiences analyzed in French bases, which are in line with the new forms of development highlighted in this study, continuing the discussion started in our main project, which focuses on local development in quilombola communities, and then develop a reflection on the possible new paths for local development. Our intention is to address our focus on local development models that are more or less in rupture with those of industrial agriculture. It is also focused on the approaches to analyse public policies for local development, considering the multiple functions performed by the communities. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that takes into account the social, economic, environmental and territorial dimensions of agriculture, our approach is founded on the literature review of studies conducted in France, which contribute to the studies in Brazil. We intend to engage with researchers on studies already carried out and mobilize the relevant French literature in terms of local development. (AU)
