Abstract

The present proposal of this scientific studies includes goals for the PhD student Laís Corrêa (FAPESP Grants 2010/16865-2) and cooperation between the Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação da Universidade de São Paulo (Laboratório de Matemática Aplicada e Computação Científica - LMACC) and the Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille - França (Laboratoire de Mécanique de Lille). This cooperation aims to validate a computational method for LES (Large-Eddy Simulation) through the numerical and experimental results obtained by the research group of Lille. It is intended to implement a new LES model into the Freeflow code for moving free surface flows, known as TLES, which is also part of studies of the research group of Lille. The emphasis is the development, analysis and implementation of LES turbulence models for the simulation of incompressible flow with moving free surfaces. In particular, the ILES (Implicit LES), LES with subgrid models and TLES (Temporal LES) models, combined with the discontinuities capture EPUS scheme, will be considered in this scientific research.
