Abstract

Intervention in Vocational Guidance is intended to enable individuals to become autonomous and acquire professional maturity, helping them to construct life projects. Psychological assessment instruments are among techniques that can be used by psychologists in Vocational Guidance processes, provided they present appropriate technical and scientific characteristics. In this context, this study focuses on two instruments of psychological assessment: the "Berufsbilder Test" (BBT-Br) and the "Bateria Fatorial de Personalidade" (BFP ). The objective is to investigate potential associations between undergraduate students' professional inclinations and personality traits. It also aims to enlarge and update BBT-Br normative parameters for adult college students since most recent studies using this instrument have addressed secondary school students. Approximately 400 senior undergraduates, both genders, attending eight different fields (according to CAPES) in public and private schools will be invited to participate. The following instruments will be applied collectively in classrooms: a) one socio-professional questionnaire; b) BBT-Br; and c) BFP. Initially, descriptive and inferential analyzes will be performed. This study is expected to broaden and improve production of knowledge in the context of Vocational Guidance intervention processes, more specifically in relation to psychological assessment instruments.
