Abstract

Family Health Strategy (FHS) has called the attention as an important alternative to (re) insert the mental suffering people in the society, according to the precepts of Psychiatric Reform. Within this context, one can observe the existing interface of FHS and Psychosocial Rehabilitation, as an approach consisting in a process of the person's emancipation, discrimination and stigmatization reduction, improvement of individual and social capacities and the creation of a long term system of support. This study aims to identify and understand the actions developed by FHS, regarding Psychosocial Rehabilitation in mental health, from the perspective of different actors. We are going to use a interview to collect data. The sample will be composed by FHS health professionals, FHS users identified by the health team as mental sufferers and their caregivers. The collecting of this data will be performed in two Family Health Unities (FHU), in the city of Ribeirão Preto - SP. All the professionals from FHU teams will be invited to contribute with this study. The audio of the interviews will be recorded and written down in their full. The material will go through an analysis, following the qualitative approach in research and the Thematic Content Analysis will be used as a tool, composed by three phases, they are: a) pre-analysis; b) material exploration; c) results treatment and interpretation. Studies about the FHS resources and potentiality regarding the assistance on mental health is an issue that has been highlighted in national and international literature, due to the importance of Psychosocial Rehabilitation in the communities and territory contexts, as well their potentiality to develop new ways of health care.
