Abstract This study asses the turnover of carbon-13 by replacing laying hens diets C4 by C3 and C3 by C4, with or without bovine meat and bones meal (BMBM), in blood/plasma and eggs of laying hens, during the period of pre-posture and posture, using the carbon isotopes stable technique to obtain information that will be reference for futures experiments on the traceability of animal meal in poultry feed, detected in eggs. 192 laying hens will be used in a completely randomized design. Two treatments will be used in pre-posture, with six replicates each. From day 1 to day 42, after changing the diets of pre-posture, plasma and blood samples will be collected at random. During posture phase, there will be four treatments with six repetitions each, where the two initial treatments based on C3 (with and without BMBM) will be randomly subdivided into two new treatments a total of four treatments based on C3, that will be replaced by four diets base on C4 whether or not MMB. Thus, the 1st to 42 days after changing diets, the laying stage will be collected blood and plasma of six hens per treatment randomly selected 12 eggs per treatment for the collection of samples of yolk, albumen and egg. The isotope analysis of samples will be performed in UNESP, Botucatu, Stable Isotopes in Environmental Center Institute of Biosciences and the data obtained by isotopic analysis will be analyzed by nonlinear regression fit of exponential first order in the software Minitab 16. | |
