Abstract This project proposes to provide a new translation to Portuguese of the platonic dialogue Lysis from the original Greek text. The translation will be accompanied by philosophical, cultural, historical, literary and philological notes, when necessary. Besides the translation, we will also write an introductory study to the dialogue, addressing mainly to its argumentative structure. In this work, considered as the first phase platonic, Socrates seeks the definition of philia, a Greek word usually translated into Portuguese as friendship. In the search for such a definition, Socrates and his interlocutors are faced with two key issues: the issue of reciprocity and the similarity and dissimilarity and the question of desire and need. These are two topics, the discussion of which composes the main body of the dialogue, which we will consider in our introductory study. (AU) | |
