Abstract

The puma (Puma concolor), also known as cougar, puma and mountain lion is a large feline and represents the largest predator of tropical forests. This animal is highly expressed in the control of other vertebrates, which demonstrates its importance in their natural habitat, and this species has on the red list of endangered animals. Analysis abdominal ultrasound B-mode, color Doppler, and spectral, associated clinical and laboratory evaluation of these animals will aid in disease research, since there are no reports regarding the past tenses sonographic investigation of these felines. This essay seeks values of normality on the parenchyma of the liver, spleen and kidneys, hemodinâmida obtain data on the major vessels involved in these organs, such as the portal vein, renal artery and interlobar, splenic vein, and also of the aorta. Also be evaluated, the diameters of the abdominal aorta and caudal vena cava. This information fluxometric and morphometric vessels and organs, assist in routine, providing information for early detection of liver, spleen and kidney in this species. In this study, nine animals will be evaluated, eight males and one female, healthy, from the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wild Animals, Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul
