Abstract

The present study aims to analyze the trans-enamel and trans-dentinal penetration of hydrogen peroxide, considering the presence of demineralization in dental enamel. To standardize the substrate, will analyze the microhardness of 70 bovine teeth being selected from the 30 specimens with values closer to the average. The specimens will be divided into two groups (n = 15), according to the factors studied: intact enamel and demineralized enamel (white spot - experimental). Each specimen will receive a 0.04 mL whitening product based on hydrogen peroxide 35% (Whiteness HP Maxx - FGM Dental Products), in each bleaching session. The procedure will be repeated 3 times with one-week intervals between sessions. To quantify the penetration of H2O2 specimens will be placed in artificial pulp chambers (CPA) containing acetate buffer solution that will be collected for evaluating the optical density Reflectance Spectrophotometer, Model UV-2450(Shimadzu, Kyoto, Japan). The data will be evaluated for homogeneity and homoscedasticity for determining the most appropriate statistical tests. A significance level of 5% will be adopted.(AU)
