Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the basic mechanical properties such as: sintering shrinkage, maximum flexural strength, modulus of elasticity and elongation of an experimental zirconium compared to Zirconias commercially available for use in CAD / CAM systems. The three groups wil be: ZE: Zirconia experimental; ZV: Vita Ceram 2000 YZ Cube; ZCA: IPS e.max ZirCAD. The blocks of pre-sintered zirconium (n = 10) will be trimmed in a rectangular pattern and brought to the oven for the final sintering. After the analysis of polymerization shrinkage using a caliper, specimens will be fractured by flexural three points test. The results of maximum strength to bending as well as the values of sintering shrinkage, elastic modulus and elongation will be submitted to ANOVA (± = 0.05) and Tukey test for comparison among groups.
