Abstract

Recycling and recovery of solid waste is an topics to most interest and discussion on the world today, in view of environmental issues should be chosen by the recovery of materials found in waste and not just send this waste to landfill, since much of this scrap it is compound for a values metals, from the solid waste with greater potential for recovery several metals are the electric and electronic waste (WEEE), which is one of the waste stream fastest growing in the world. The aim of this work is purification and separation of base metals such as copper, nickel and zinc found in the printed circuit boards from (PCB) discarded computers, through unit operations like leaching and synergistic solvent extraction. In order to determinate the metals, ceramic and polymeric materials amount that compose the printed circuit boards, was carried out physicochemical characterization. In this work will be assessed different parameters to purify and separate the interest metals. Initially, in the synergistic solvent extraction process will be selected the system with the best results to achieve our goal, evaluating the pH influence. Thereafter, will be assessed parameters such as aqueous/organic ratio, extractant concentration and temperature, in order to find the parameters with best comportment during the process and thus obtaining purified solutions with the interest metals.
