Abstract

Bagasse from sugar cane is a fibrous material that contains 32-50% cellulose and 19-25% hemicellulose, embedded in a matrix of lignin corresponding to 23-32% of the fiber, which can be hydrolyzed by chemical or enzymatic pathways. Thus, the goal of this project is to study the conditions promising for the disruption of the lignocellulosic material by enzymatic pathway searching known and minimizing the formation of fermentation inhibitors. Therefore, the oxidative action of ozone in the presence of metal ions in solution will be tested, linking it to the release of sugars and phenolic compounds from the action of a complex lignocelulolítico. In this context, is intended to refine a process technically and economically satisfactory, with good yield and significant reduction of time and energy.(AU)
