Abstract

The main theme in this research project is to study redefinition of commercial spaces in brazilian and spanish middle cities having, like objectif, to avaliate similarities and differences among them in what reffers the redefinition of urban centrality. For that, we will analyze: a) locational logics when they are focused like strategies of economic agents and are oriented by ampliation and diversification of consumption; b) contents and profile changes in spatial practices for those who appropriates and consumes urban space. Relations between space and time will be privileged in an effort to articulate: economic concentration and spatial deconcentration, what characterizes the actual world process; - transformations of values and social practices reflecting and basing globalization, in combination and contradiction with sociospatial formations where are inserted the cities that will be taken as research object.
