Abstract

The human activities have caused a strong impact on the marine environment, to the point that the viability of many ecosystems are under threatened. The relationship between the oceans' health, anthropogenic activities and public health is a consensus in the scientific community; however, its mechanisms are still under the eyes of the science. The presence of organic contaminants in marine compartments were reported by several researches in the world and its impact on the populations that habit these ecosystems are not fully understood, there is the suspected of binding of these impacts with the development of neoplasm in some animal populations, problem that is endangering both threatened and endangered species. Accordingly, this project aims to assess the presence of PAHs in sediments, algae samples and sea turtles C. mydas with fibropapillomatosis from the Braziliam coast. (AU)
