Abstract

Urban Vegetation Areas make an important role in the urban environment, the environmental scope acts as keeper of natural conditions and, in the social scope as a space of socialization, sports and cultural practices. Their presence in a city provides environmental quality. The work of monitoring and classification tree community as well as understanding how the population relates to parks, allows more scientific approach to the local administration. The project consists of using remote sensing techniques and high-resolution images to classify the vegetation present in three green areas of São Paulo, then apply the index Urban Forest from generated classes and then analyze the influence of Urban Vegetation in their surroundings. The production of a thematic map summarizing the data obtained can assist in management programs of these green areas, will be easy to understand even for experts and lay people, allowing rapprochement between the population and scientific research.
