Abstract

Introduction: Different approaches has been used to determine a substance as a tumor marker in the bladder cancer. Traditionally the histological differences of a resected tumor has been used as an indicative of a potential tumoral behavior, it means, the progression or recurrence. There needs of better methods to identify tumor markers that helps to forecast invasives superficial bladder tumors such as its behavior and prognostic. Objectives: This study will evaluat the DNA concentrations from the plasma and urine in patients with urothelial carcinoma of the bladder. Methodology: A clinic will be applied to bladder cancer to monitor and care for about 30 patients with the disease. Such clinic is at the service of Urology from the ABC Medical School, at the Mario Covas State Hospital. After the confirmation of the disease through suspect bladder ultrassonografy and clinical symptoms, to the same amount of patients the logistic and goal of this study will be explain and the Statement of Consent( SC) will be applied. After signing the SC, the patients will be include in this study and we will collect blood by peripheral venipuncture and isolated sample urine. The samples will be collected at the diagnosis and start to be collect after 45 days, 3 months and 6 months after the diagnosis. The tubes with the blood samples and the collectors with the urine samples from the patients included in the study will be sent to the Clinical Analysis Laboratory of the ABCMS where the concentrations will be determined by spectrophotometer method.
