Abstract

The student is in the development stage of the Estimation of Distribution Algorithm for Protein Structure Prediction (PSP). In order to generate related variables is necessary to use statistical techniques that are able to capture the dependence between continuous variables. Currently, this is being done using the method of Kernel. However, this method is computationally expensive. Therefore, it is expected studying new ways of estimating the joint probability of continuous variables. Thus, through contact with the Professor Jochen Einbeck, Durham University, England, it is expected, through an internship abroad, studying an alternative technique to estimate the joint probability, that could obtain quality predictions with less computational cost.
