Abstract

The critic reproduction of the capital binds directly to the dynamics of urban space production and, in this sense, cities stand at the same time as expression and as condition to perform the sense of capitalist production mode: the appreciation of the value. For this reason, interventions in city spaces allow to reflect on the complexity of critical urbanization contents. From mobilization trajectory of urban land ownership, inherent condition for incorporation of real estate in the branches of productive capital, it is possible to get to the genesis of the time the land acquires a legal form. Thus it becomes possible to think about the legal dimension that reproduction of urban space gains. Based on the Urban Operation Lapa-Bras this research aims to reflect on the contents of the urbanization process of Sao Paulo, as well analyze possible contradictions relating to real estate as an important branch of productive capitalist production mode.
