Abstract

Pasture degradation is by far the most important problem of animal production in Brazil. The experiment objective assessment of ingestive behavior and weight gain of Nelore steers, as well as the measurement of forage mass, sward structure, the nutritive value of pasture Brachiaria brizantha cultivar. Marandu submitted to grazing intensity and supplemental sources lipids (soy supplement with grain; for bypass fat supplement and supplement with mineralized exclusively) in the rearing of beef cattle. The experiment will be conducted in the area of the Forage FCAV / UNESP, from November 2011 to September 2012. Will be studied three grazing heights (15, 25, and 35 cm), with and without supplementation, corresponding to a 3 x 2 factorial. Thus, the present experiment or 12 experimental plots (3 x 2 grazing heights supplementation levels x 2 reps). Will measure: assessment of forage mass, sward structure, and nutritional value of the sward canopy; consumption with the use of three indicators and grazing behavior.(AU)
