Abstract

In the middle century XIX, the wagnerian drama was a new "form" of music, both in composition and in the way they live it aesthetically. Wagner created a music which differs from other operas that had been composed, for him this distinction was clear in his writings, because it was not composed opera and musical drama yes. With a large gap between the other composers of his time, Wagner was used philosophy to not only develop his concept of drama, but also to understand music as essence. Among his readings, was to Schopenhauer who directed him to a path that had not been explored in music, this guideline known as wagnerian music drama, originated from a basic foundation, a philosophy that put the song in a category more high among the other arts. Finally, from the wagnerian musical apparatus, in other words, texts written by the composer on aesthetics and musical librettos of his dramas, along with the philosophy of Schopenhauer, we will develop a survey that can amalgamate two academic areas, music and philosophy, approaching the from a philosophy of music. With this we hope that the results of this research can be effective both for the history of music as to the area of philosophy of art and aesthetics. (AU)
