Abstract

Inserted within the doctoral research titled "Other cities: poverty, housing, politics and violence in perspective", this proposal of overseas internship intends to expand the theoretical and analytical research basis, by enabling the deep contact with some of the main references in the study of sociospatial processes and contemporary urban mobilities, developed with significant novelty in the field of Architecture and Urbanism at OUT_arquias group (ETSA / Universidad de Sevilla), where it is proposed to perform the internship. Conceived from previous dialogue with the professors of the aforesaid group, through the group LEAUC - IAU / USP, of which I am a researcher, this internship will last three months, developing between May and July 2013 from three complementary axes of activities: 1) access to bibliographies and fundamental references about social-spatial processes and contemporary urban mobility, enabling an expansion of theoretical and methodological basis of the research, 2) in-depth dialogue with ongoing investigations in the group on urban issues directed to the doctoal research (violence, informality,stigmatization, insecurity, borders dynamic), allowing the exchange of research experiences and fields of work, and above all, providing new inputs to the analytical basis of the research, 3) exploratory approach to the realities of the "barriadas" in Seville and spanish studies on such urban contexts. The internship will provide, thus, fundamental subsidies for the continued and systematic analysis of the material collected in the field research in Brazil, in light of the readings, discussions and reflections developed under the orientation of the spanish supervisor, as well as from discussions with researchers and partners of the group , greatly enriching the preparation of the thesis.
